Shorty's Basement now has a new L1 duration kit.  It is the Competitor.  Laser cut parts have arrived.  Will start putting kits together and they should be available starting next week.

FOLLOWING IS A QUOTE FROM AN EMAIL I RECEIVED TODAY, AUGUST 12, 2008 FROM DR. Z IN REFERENCE TO RAPIER L2 MOTORS:

"I made extensive trials with L-2 motors made with bad results. I have had
60 - 70 % failures. So I made decision that I will not use the L-2 tubes
further. And also I will destroy all L-2 engines made. Quality of those
tubes is simply wrong.
As I informed you I will order new lot of tubes as soon as possible.
Sorry for your disillusion but I am in permanent stress from another and
another defects of L-2 jets.
At present I am able to produce L-1 and L-3 jet units. Here is quality OK."

GREAT NEWS.....Bill Reuter of the Cleveland Free Flight Society, Cleveland, OH won the Jetex Duration Event at the 2008 AMA NATS in Muncie, IN on August 7, 2008 flying a Scorpio.  Here is a picture of Bill holding his Scorpio and first place trophy.  I apologize the writing on the trophy is not visible in the picture.
